Scottish Winter Update March 2021
This is the first winter for over 20 years where I have not been able to enjoy introducing clients to the delights of Scottish winter mountaineering. Nearly 365 days since lock down began this winter season has been very different. Early season conditions were tricky with unconsolidated snow. As ever we always say we need a good thaw and a refreeze. After numerous days when skiing was the best option, the weather delivered leaving the Highlands with low level ice you would dream for. It was wonderful to climb ice close to the road and low down on Ben Nevis. It coud have only been made better if I could have shared it with my clients as well as my friends. As Spring arrives its still snowing up high and the winter adventures will continue. For all those folk that have had to postpone their bookings I truly hope that the winter of 2022 will deliver the same.

Our three days together were absolutely wonderful and will remain in our memory for ever. Thank you Adele and, if you can bear it, here's to the next outing!
