October Sunshine on the Aonach Eagach

With no scrambling experience Lorna and Miriam were excited and a little apprehensive as we drove up Glencoe and viewed the Aonach Eagach from the road. It was a beautiful chilly Autumn morning and after checking all their equipment we set off for the steady walk up Am Bodach. Ticking off every 200m and plodding at 10m/min we soon reached the top and gazed at the magnificent views. As this was their first scramble we popped helmets and harnesses on and were soon making the first rocky descent. It was pretty obvious to me that these two ladies were natural mountain goats and we made superb progress along the ridge. Smiles all the way and the rope only used in a few places to boost confidence. Time flew past as we laughed, chatted and scrambled away. Miriam was renamed lululemon pants (http://www.lululemon.co.uk ) have a look at these ladies! It was so evident that Lorna and Miriam who had been told that they needed more experience to cross the ridge were in their element and  what a start to their scrambling career.

Thank you ladies for making my day extra special.

October is a superb month for mountaineering and I have plenty of availability…. Unusual I know but plans to be in full swing renovation Dogha have been put on hold for a while as Spike recovers from a broken collar bone!! Poor Spike and it was my bike he fell off.

Please drop me an e mail or call if you feel like a trip to the Highland.

In addition if your interested in a week of hot rock in Calpe then I am putting together a course for November.
