More Detail

Climbing Ben Nevis (1344m) via the walking route in winter can be an immensely satisfying and rewarding experience. It is not to be taken lightly and can be a very tough day taking between 8 to 10 hours for the round trip. Starting from sea level and reaching the highest point in the UK in winter conditions is a great achievement for anyone wishing to start winter hill walking or to tick off Ben Nevis. Never too steep the Pony Track which is known as the normal route is achievable by anyone who can withstand a little bit of discomfort and has a good level of fitness.

Using Adele to guide you to the top ensures that you will have a safe ascent and you will be able to enjoy the challenge. Never taking more than four people at a time we can make sure that everyone in the group achieves their goal. If the conditions are such that you need ice axe and crampons, Adele will provide these free of charge and train you how to use them to ensure your safety. If you are feeling more adventurous and have some basic winter skills then you may like to turn your attention to the North side of Ben Nevis which has some magnificent easier climbs such as Ledge Route, No Four Gully and the Carn Mor Dearg Arete.

Please note reaching the summit of Ben Nevis by either side can never be guaranteed and if the weather, avalanche conditions or group members give any reason for concern then we will return or discuss alternative options before setting out. For those wanting to take the challenge of the North Side of Ben Nevis Adele holds vehicular permission to take a vehicle through the forestry tracks to 270m.
