Rock Climbing in the Lake District

The Lake District is a beautiful location and has some magnificent climbing venues both in the mountains and at lower levels. Being a little more accessible it is offers a great alternative to Scottish rock, an ideal location to learn the techniques of leading or to climb some famous Classics.

Cost per day £165 for 1 person. Plus £20 per additional group member.

Maximum Number There will only ever be 2 participants to one instructor to ensure you get the most out of your day
Duration Minimum 2 days to a recommended maximum of 4 to 5 days.
Where are the courses based? Keswick and Ambleside are good central Lake land bases.

The Lake District saw the birth of rock climbing in the UK with the solo ascent of Napes Needle by W.P. Haskett Smith known to many as the father of Rock Climbing. With so many routes to choose from and some outstanding Classics climbing in the Lakes is a magnificent experience.

If you want to climb some multi-pitch mountain routes, learn to lead or kick start your rock climbing on some lower level crags then browse through Adele’s top 10 routes to get some inspiration. Having climbed extensively in the Lakes, Adele can always choose the best location and route to suit your ability and aspirations.
